You’ve already got a WordPress site , and you want to keep hosting your sales pages there. Great! Kartra not only makes it super easy to build web pages, but also to host them right in your existing WordPress site (based on a custom WordPress installation or a business plan on wordpress.com) with just a couple of clicks, complete with your own WordPress domain and custom URLs.
Here’s all you have to do.
1. Log into your WordPress dashboard to install and activate a plugin called “Blank Slate.” This will allow you to create blank page templates in WordPress to house your Kartra pages, and will work even if you change your WordPress theme later.

2. Create a new WordPress page where you’ll display your Kartra Page, and in the right sidebar, select “Blank Slate” from the Page Template drop-down menu.
If you don’t see a pull-down to select a template, no problem. Just click on “Screen Options” at the top right of your screen, then look to the top left and select “Page Attributes.” The drop-down menu will then appear in the right sidebar.
3. Log into Kartra and enter the Page Builder to design your web page in Kartra, either with one of Kartra’s many beautiful templates, or starting from scratch with your own custom design.
4. Customize your page in the Kartra Page Builder. When you’re finished, click on the “Actions” drop-down menu in the top right corner of your screen and select “Publish live.”
5. In the popup window, select “Publish on your own server” on the right, and then copy the JavaScript Embed Code.
6. Go back to your page editor in WordPress. Make sure you’re in the “Text” tab and not the “Visual” tab.
7. Then, paste your JavaScript code right into the text editor.
8. Now, set the page URL for your WordPress page. Your URL can be whatever you want, and your WordPress root domain will be preserved. Visitors can instantly reach your page using the WordPress-hosted URL, even though behind the scenes, your page is actually hosted in Kartra.
9. Publish your page and have a look! You’ll see that your Kartra Page is displayed 100% accurately on your new WordPress page, with the custom URL you’ve created. It’s as if the page were a regular WordPress page — even though it’s built and hosted in Kartra.
10. Need to edit your page? Just go into the Kartra Page Builder and easily make your edits there. Your published changes will automatically show up on your corresponding WordPress page.
Your WordPress site — powered by Kartra.
Now you have the best of both worlds.
Build your pages in Kartra and display them in WordPress just by copying and pasting a line of auto-generated code. It’s really that easy.
You can create all the pages you need with the super-easy, feature-rich Kartra Page Builder — sales pages, squeeze pages, video sales pages, coming soon pages, thank you pages and more.
Then let people reach those pages using your existing WordPress domain and whatever custom URLs you like.
Even if you change WordPress themes, your pages built in Kartra will stay exactly as you designed them.
And whenever you edit your pages in Kartra, they’ll automatically update on your WordPress site.
Please check it out and let us know what you think. We’d love to hear how it works for your site.

The javascript way you laid out above (1 piece of code on my own WP page) I doubt would yield any GOOGLE LOVE, so that’s kind of out of the picture for me.
Soooo, what’s the best way to put the KARTRA PAGES on your OWN WP site, while keeping SEO BENEFITS?

Thoughts on that? Works?
you can use the blank slate and yoast SEO plugin
When you do this, do you get all the same analytics in Kartra? Visitors / conversions etc?
Hi Jack! If you use a Kartra Page embedded in your WordPress site, then yes – the analytics will work through that Kartra Page and report into your Kartra Analytics dashboard. For additional technical questions you might have, please email support@kartra.com – they’re the real experts and are waiting to help! ;+)
Hi,
That’s great! How can we do this with Kartra membership pages, especially the Login Page? In my country (Germany) we are requiered by law to 1.) ALWAYS have a visible Link to an “imprint” (contact and some legal Text) on EVERY Page, as well as 2.) a Link to the privacy policy at least on EVERY page where data is entered = the Login page.
So this would be a way to use kartra (host it in WordPress and add those links there) because right now the membership site and Login are not cinfigureable and therefore CAN NOT BE USED BY GERMAN COMPANIES.
I really want to use Kartra and this would be a way to do it.
Thanks,
Rainer

How does Kartra work for agencies with several clients? For example, could I make copies of the same squeeze page template in Kartra and use one version on one client’s website and another version on another client’s site?
And where do the leads come from in your different packages? Do my clients supply them, or do they come from something like Facebook’s similar audiences?
Thanks for this software. This is revolutionary.
Hi Dan! This is a great question…. While we are planning on releasing an agency, or multi-business license as soon as possible, we don’t currently have one.
Instead, you have a couple of options.
1. Sign up to become an affiliate and have each of your client’s purchase with your affiliate link, which allows you to earn some extra income, OR you can offer it back to your clients as an incentive for using Kartra. You can do that by by visiting https://kartra.com/jv.
2. If the additional users are not clients, but business partners or co-workers, you can add them as team members (that’s how Genesis Digital manages it’s Kartra account with customer service agents).
I hope this helps in some way until the agency license becomes available.
As far as leads, you supply your own leads that you have collected through your website or traffic via ads.
Hi,
I currently have a shopify account but not happy with it. I’m in process of starting a business so it would be easy for me to switch now. I’m very interested in switching to Kartra but I blog. Any suggestions?
Thanks,
Heather

Is there an easy way to achieve this same functionality / integration in Joomla?
Thanks,
Jon
Hi Jon!
I’m not directly familiar with Joomla but the Blank Slate plugin for WordPress simply strips out the design template and thus the embedded Kartra page doesn’t have any CSS conflicts or anything.
I notice that Blank Slate leaves the meta data intact from things like Yoast SEO.
So if you have a plugin like that in Joomla, the Kartra page embed will behave the best.
In theory, you could embed it into any pre-existing page, it’s just that if there’s formatting in place already, it’ll mess with the Kartra page formatting so you want to strip out the formatting.
Hi, I have a word press site that is well established in the search engines. I don’t want to mess with the home page but it gets a lot of traffic. Can I put a button on my word press site that links to a Kartra pop up option form? Do the pop up forms have a link we can copy and use from any where?
Hello Erik! Great question.
You can embed a Kartra opt-in form into a non-Kartra page for sure, so you can keep your home page exactly the way it is.
When it comes to pop-ups, you’ll need an addon (ie: if you’re using WordPress) that handles the pop up, and then you can embed the Kartra opt-in code just like you do for any other autoresponder.
Kartra-powered pop-up opt-in forms only work in Kartra pages themselves, including pages you embed into your WordPress site using Blank Slate or the equivalent.
I hope this helps! Feel free to contact our support desk at support@kartra.com with future questions, as our entire team is there and it’s the best place to reach us.
You can also visit our Support Wiki here: http://help.genesisdigitial.co and if there’s a live chat agent available, that option will pop up as well!

Looks great, but since it is embedded, how is the responiveness of this page with this script?
Kartra Pages had SEO integrated. Will the Google use the SEO from the embedded page?
Hey, great question! If you’re embedding a Kartra page on WordPress, you should use the SEO options in your WordPress account. The source code will still pull that section from WP, so that’s where your details should go.
Hi Pasty,
as I understood all the “meta tags” used for SEO in kartra are ignored and we should work with WP seo tools as YOAST for example.
But what is the situation with the content of the page? Is scanned correctly from robots? is there any penalization regarding the fact the page is not in HTML but there is a JS script instead of Kartra?
Yes. You should use an SEO tool such as Yoast. As with any web-page the search engines will show your meta data only. (if no meta data is provided the Search Engine will make a guess as to what the proper content to display is. )
When you embed a Kartra page on your WordPress website you should provide a meta Title and a meta description to control what is displayed on search Engines.
How about uploading the files directly to my server…. I use Hostgator … where do I need to upload the files (destination) … and do I need to extract the zipped file before uploading it?
Great questions! Yes, you will need to unzip the archive first before uploading it to your host. Then, use an FTP client to upload the folder to the root directory for your domain. Every system is a little different, so I recommend reaching out to HostGator support if you need help finding this!
Hi,
I’m using wix at the moment and I’m using their hosting as well. But I’m considering leaving. How do I go about hosting? does Kartra host?
Hi there Ali!
Yes, Kartra is a web host, and we can host your custom domain as part of the website as well.
Kartra is not a domain registrar, however, so you’ll need to register your domain elsewhere and then point it to our servers using the custom domain configuration steps we provide over here:
https://documentation.kartra.com/category/custom-domains/
I hope this helps!
Love this but need to know, if I use blank slate to host kartra pages on a wordpress site are those pages responsive?
Hi there Kimberly!
Great question. And the answer is YES! Kartra pages are responsive and when you use Blank Slate plugin it strips away all formatting on the WordPress side and simply shows the Kartra page formatting – which is responsive.
Please reach out to our support team if you have any questions or challenges, and we’ll take a closer look!
